"hey... that's not my cat!"

My Venezky interpretations are always so cracked out. And I used your own damn cat this time.

Glow!

Last night we spontaneously decided to go to glow in Santa Monica.

We looked for parking for an hour and had a lovely nature walk on the beach to the event.

My ferris wheel crown:

So happy to be here! ANd not working! Yay for not sleeping until 5 in the morning!

Cool inflatable machine thingies underneath the pier:

We weren't sure if this was an installation or if someone just bought a bunch of glow sticks.

Rowdy people all over the beach + pier! (this was prob around 2am)

Floatie thing in the water... we mistook it for the "poets on a boat" installation. Too bad I never found the phone to call them and get my own personal poem.

Super artsy. Super weird. Super fun :)

I am so so so stuck on this project! So stuck that I can't bring myself to work on it. :/

I Forgot to Post About Martin Venezky Day!

Last week I met with my #1 favorite graphic designer in the whole world!! Martin Venezky!

I could spot his office a block away... the windows were filled with his "discarded nostalgia"

This was so strange and wonderful.

The famous collage wall. Much smaller than shown in his book, but still just as cool.

Me + the legend. We met for twice as long as originally planned, and he gave me a lot to think about as he critiqued my work.

Not only is he the coolest designer ever, he's an amazing teacher and person. He must have lost $2238572345 in the time he spent with me, says a lot about the type of person he is to help out a measly 3rd term art center student.

Go meet your role model! It's scary and totally worth it.

Graphic Design Viewbook

Working on an Art Center Graphic Design Viewbook for perspective students in Type 3. I seem to be the only one who thinks Art Center is fun...

"Unfolding Curiosity"

Thanks to the Archives for letting me use these AMAZING nostalgic photos! Please note lack of females and asians.

Allison Goodman's class made this is 1998:

We made fandecks :(

More to come on this project, I'm actually really excited about it!

Sorry Little Buddy

Fun with Materials!

Sculpture Parade: Jo's duck, toaster, koala, Jeff's Domo, my owl+pineapple

Death by clamp:

I seriously messed up my owl :( He's missing an eyeball, half a horn, and various other body parts. I think they are stuck in the mold somewhere...

Seriously, folks.

Can we add some more hours in this week? Please?

Stood up for 7 hours last night making this:

Doing edits in Photoshop:

Additional elements in AI:

Type book + Scholarship Review + life?
Seriously, folks. Watch out for those rattlesnakes.
