Quality vs. Quantity

The escalating anger and discussions about the quality of student work at Art Center is nicely summed up in this article from the LA Times

With all this going on, it makes me wonder if I would have been admitted into Art Center if they weren't accepting more students. I had taken one Communication Design class, and was otherwise self taught. Everything in my entrance portfolio was executed in Illustrator, and the first time I ever touched Photoshop or InDesign was in Digital Design 2.

Would I be here if it wasn't for greedy administrations? That happens everywhere, right? It happened at Carnegie Mellon, where students=$ signs, the President lived in his mansion off Devonshire Rd, and I didn't even know his name or what he looked like. At least Richard Koshalek responds when the students talk.

Now that Art Center issues are being openly discussed in the public, all future employers will know that Art Center kids enrolled now are no good. Thanks guys. When it comes time to get a job and our portfolios aren't up to par, will it be because of our Art Center education, or because we have painted Art Center as a mediocre school?
